Co-written by Vern Gosdin and Max D. Barnes, the song ‘If You're Gonna Do Me Wrong (Do It Right)’ came out in 1983 and was recorded by Vern Gosdin. Right away I fell in love with this song as it is a perfect done me wrong song. Country Music is chalk full of these ditties but from time to time one will stand out as a gem for its lyrics and music. This song, simple as it is, digs right down to the roots of what it feels to be losing your grip on the one you love and feeling helpless to do anything about it. Take a couple of moments to listen to this tune and I’m sure you will begin to see it’s charm.
