A song of my own.

I have never considered myself a song writer because writing a song comes so hard to me. Some songs take years for me to write and then fine tune. One or two came ove weeks or days but most never get completed.

I hear about other amatures like me who have writen dozens of songs and I envy the talent they must have. To write so many original works on any given subjects seem like a gift I'll never have.

That having been said, I have writen one or two songs I...

The Circle

Tags country , cover , gospel

One of the hardest things I've had to do musicaly in recent years was to learn to turn the clock back and play a simplified style of bare bone chording. I did this when a fellow I met at a jam professed to me that he had started learn to play guitar but just couldn't do it.

Now I'm one guy who believes that anyone can learn to play an instrument or sing if they realy want to and I always try to encourage student musicians because that gives me one more musician in the future that...

May You Never Be Alone Like Me.

Some years back I was at an auction sale in Melita, Manitoba when I came across an old AutoHarp. It had a few boken strings, a seam that had come unglued and all the buttons had been removed from the key shafts. Otherwise however it appeared completely intact.
I knew at first sight that I had to buy it. know nothing about AutoHarps but I love old fashioned instruments and I saw this as a piece of Americana. I purchased it for twenty bucks and got it repaired for $60.00. THe strings...

The Dirty Bird Song???

I was down at the anual Westman Jams Grand Valley Jam in Brandon a couple of summers back, where I got a request to play the Dirty Bird song. I was both confused and shocked, first because I had no idea what this song was and second because it sounded like a very rude song I would never bother to learn.
A little claification, however, revealed that this fellow was asking for the Tennisee Bird Walk. I was amazed that he even knew I did this tune, as I rarely do but he must have heard...

I've never been very good in a garden. I always assumed I simply had no interest in plants. Recently a protest song from Alberta, Canada got me thinking, though. Maybe its not that I don't like plants & vegetables. Maybe, rather, I love them too much.

Alberta, as a cattle man's Provence, has been attacked regularly, here in Canada, by vegetarians who seem to believe that Albertans have no moral sence...
