Here is a group that I stumbled upon while listening to a random Bluegrass radio channel. Km put together a dynamite number called 'This Little House Of Mine' and her band, 3 Fox Drive Did a heck of a job performing it. Man, if you haven't heard their recording of this tune, look it up and check it out! This is a great, up and coming, band with a fantastic song writer. Here is my simple...

It pays to keep listening to the radio because just when you think all the good music has died out some one records a fantastic song that you just have to learn. Such was the case, one day, as I was listening to a Bluegrass station and I caught a tune called ‘The Red Rose Bouquet' written by Kim Fox.

This is a real gem in that the tune is memorable and the lyrics are incredibly...

The Storms Are On The Ocean

Posted 11-25-2013 at 04:51 AM by Bishop (Elger's Recording Studio)

written by A.P. Carter and recorded by June Carter.

A.P. Carter has been credited with authoring this ballad but it was likely pieced
together from several songs dating a long way back to Scotland and England. None the less, in its current format, A.P.Carter can likely take full credit.

'The Storms Are On The Ocean' is a perfect example of the kind of music that mother Maybelle Carter became famous for performing....

Who Will Sing For Me

Posted 09-10-2013 at 02:19 AM by Bishop (Elger's Recording Studio)

written by John Thomas Ely and recorded by Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJTsHAYLudo

As a singer, from a long line of family singers, I often feel strongly that a friend ought to sing at the funeral of any musician or singer who has passed away. I'm also a big fan of the concept of the Irish Wake, which is a musical party held after a funeral to celebrate the life of the person who passed away. Angels Rock Me To Sleep, written by Marion W. Easterling & Thomas Ramsey

and recorded by Bill Monroe.

One of the many bluegrass/gopel songs that I learned when I started learning a Bluegrass repitoir. Bill Monroe's 'Angels Rock Me To Sleep ' is well written lyricaly and pleasing to the ear musicaly. it is such an excelent balance.that it is no wonder it became so popular in its day. If you haven't heard this song befor please give it a listen and I think that you'll see what I mean.
