A Negatory Romance: written & recorded by Tom T. Hall

Tom T. Hall is a favorite of mine because of his many ballids

which always appeal to me. 'A Negatory Romance' was recorded in the 1970's back when truck driving songs were all the rage. This isn't a trucking song but there are heavy references to C.B. lingo. I usualy don't like trucking tunes but this song, simple as it is, is very well written and I couldn't help falling with it.

Take a listen to...

You've Got To Stand For Something: written by William Calhoun Jr. Brock, Aaron Tippin

Posted 04-20-2013 at 02:01 PM by Bishop (Elger's Recording Studio)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTKs3-EJd8I

recorded by: Aaron Tippin

Aaron Tippin has that realy heavy southern accent that often used to tipify country music. Not something I have always liked but some artists can pull it off well like Hank Williams &... yes, Aaron Tippin. Durring the 1990's Aaron put out some realy great tunes like 'Mirror Mirror' and 'How Far To Over You'.

'You've Got To Stand For Something' takes me back to my youth...

Before She Made Me Crawl written by Larry Coad & recorded by Harold McIntyre

This song would have slipped right under my radar if not for a friend of mine, Regenald Jones, who played it once at a jam where I heard it. Written by Larry Coad and recorded by Canadian born Harold McIntyre, this song is one realy great country blues tune. If bar room blues is your kind of stuff, 'Before She Made Me Crawl' ought to be right up your alley.

Take a listen to this cover and see if I'm right. Oh......

The North-west Passage written & recorded by Stan Rogers

Stan Rogers was a Canadien Folk artist that wrote many very fine songs like this one. 'The North-west Passage' was a quest that was in many ways fruitless and costly in both lives and resorces, but it resulted in the mapping of vast tracts of Canada through the arctic, prairies and mountans. Please take the time to listen to this cover and you will see why Stan was so beloved by many folk music fans durring his all too short career.

recorded by: Travis Tritt

Durring the 1990's I experienced a re-newed iintrest in country music with the new artists comming out at the time. One of these was Travis Tritt who put out several chart toppers including this gem called, simply, 'Anymore'. This is a real heart grabber. If you don't love this song I don't know what is wrong with you. Here is my cover of this great song.
