I believe that there is nothing more Haunting then a song sung A Capella. For any of you not familiar with term that means without any instruments to backup the voices.
This form of music is so tough because not only do you have to have excellent harmony, but your timing must be absolutely perfect as well because you have no rhythm instruments to cue you when and where to begin singing. I thought I'd give this form of music a try to see if I could even get a little of the feel of A Capella. For this I chose a beautiful, Laurie Lewis, number called 'The Wood Thrush's Song'. Really, you ought to treat yourself to the original version by Laurie Lewis.
I fell way short of the mark but I did enjoy recording this number. If you have ever thought it might be nice to try out A Capella, I recommend you give it a shot. It's hard as heck to do but also a lot of fun. Here is my cover of 'The Wood Thrush's Song'.
