Right! Some of you folks may have gotten the idea, from the majority of my postes, that I don't like Rock & Roll. While it's not my favorite format of music, I;m not shy to admit that I have come across some rock tunes, over the years, that were pretty adictive. The Beatles are found on most people's favorite rock preformers list and I'm no exception. While perhaps not one of thier more famous tunes, 'Paperback Writer' does demonstrate...

O.K. by now you may have guessed that George Jones is my favorite music recording artist. He just seems to come with a constant stream of realy great songs. Here's one I came accross that I wasn't familiar with. Maybe you've heard it before. Take a listen to this cover of 'Things have Gone To Pieces'

He Stopped Loving Her Today: written by Bobby Braddock and Curly Putman.

Recorded by George Jones

George Jones was, is, and always will be considered as a master at singing the blues. One of his most famous songs is the classic 'He Stopped Loving Her Today'. Its famous because in classic George Jones style, it tells the tale of the cost that comes when you loose in the game of love. Nobody can tell a story like that like George Jones. I normally try to avoide covering a song quite so well known but how can I resist trying my hand at a cove of this...

Why Did I Wait So Long written by Shawn Lane & recorded by Ricky Skaggs.

Posted 03-05-2013 at 03:43 PM by Bishop (Elger's Recording Studio)

Alright I didn't do as good a cover of this as I would have liked. I tried time & time again but could not get a saticfactory recording. I'm just not good enough. So why poste it? For the same reason I poste all of my efforts. Because this song deserves to be brought forward into the eyes of the public who might, as yet, have not heard it. One of the greatest gospel numbers I have ever heard, it never fails to stir my heart into a flurie. Ricky Skaggs does an awesome job presenting this number....

A Night To Remember: written by Max T. Barnes and T.W. Hale & recorded by Joe Diffie

Sometimes whether or not a song appeals to me comes down to one line and the way it is sung. 'A Night To Remember' is one such song for me. At first I thought it was pretty mediocre but when the line "It ain't easy being strong.", came up I was suddenly hooked Don't ask me why. Just the way Joe Diffie didi it, plus the fact that it explains the meaning to whole song. Listen to this cover... and maybe you'll see what I mean....
